ABOUT ME

Hey y'all, I'm Emma! I was born and raised in San Francisco, California and I'm very proud to be a Golden State native! I decided I wanted to explore my horizons, leading me to move to Washington, D.C. to attend The Catholic University of America to get my Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre. I have also trained at Rose Bruford College in the UK and the A.C.T. SF Young Conservatory.

My mom always told me, "You sang before you spoke" because when I was a baby I would coo to myself and self soothed by humming. When I was in kindergarten, I sang "Tomorrow" from Annie with my friend Mia at my school's talent show and that's when it all started. I discovered my passion for singing and my parents decided to put me in choir so I would stop constantly singing around the house. Singing in choir led me to discover Musical Theatre.

I’m passionate about non-traditional innovative theatre that pushes the boundaries of what theatre is. Especially

non-traditional musical theatre. I love exploring and helping develop new works. I’m particularly interested in doing work written by women and LGBTQ+ folks. I am seeking to do theatre that challenges me to be outside of my comfort zone and pushes me to grow.  My goal is to do work that challenges the audience and makes them think. Theatre has the power to transform minds and change lives, just like it changed mine. I hope to give back to others what theatre has given to me. In the future, I hope to produce works that are created by like-minded artists like me.

I'm also passionate about Digital Marketing for Theatre and have a Professional Certificate in Digital Marketing from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. My other hobbies and interests include: baking, cooking, playing guitar & piano, traveling, reading tarot cards, astrology (I'm a Capricorn!), and seeing live music.

I currently work at The Keegan Theatre doing Social Media Strategy and Content Creation. You can also find me working all three Front of House jobs: House Managing, Bartending, and Box Office at The Shakespeare Theatre Company :)
